The Medicine Wheel Garden (Gitigaan Mashkiki) is a special project operated out of Heart Lake Conservation Park.

We work closely with our Indigenous partners at the Four Colours Drum Circle to:
- Conduct regular maintenance to care for the gardens and various components of the Medicine Wheel Garden site.
- Supply equipment and resources required for the ongoing maintenance and programming activities at the site.
- Assist with coordination and delivery of school and community group events at the site.
- Plan and deliver the annual National Day of Truth and Reconciliation ceremony.

This garden and its continued success have been made possible through the generosity and dedication of our partners and volunteers.
Special acknowledgement is extended to Four Colours Drum Circle, who have become Watershed Champions and Caretakers of the Medicine Wheel Garden (Gitigaan Mashkiki).
Its success is a direct result of their continued attention to the garden, the ceremonies performed, and the teachings shared with students, residents, and community groups.
Educating these groups on maintenance protocols and honouring the garden has provided visitors with a new understanding of its value.
