Join TRCA on Saturday June 27 2026 at Etienne Brule Park for the annual Celebrate the Humber event

Celebrate the Humber with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA)! Explore a scenic stretch of Toronto’s Humber River Recreation Trail and discover historic landmarks like the bridge at Etienne Brûlé Park. Along the route, enjoy a series of interactive and educational stations designed for all ages.

How to Explore Toronto’s
Humber River Recreation Trail at the Event

  • Explore the trail at your own pace; or
  • Join a guided walk at 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., or 1:30 p.m. (Available on a first-come, first-served basis.)

The Nest: A Quiet Space

Take a break at The Nest, a welcoming space designed for rest and sensory relief. Whether you need a moment to recharge or a quieter environment, you are invited to relax here.

Please note: A DJ will be on site providing light background music featuring Canadian and local artists. Reduced sound levels will be in effect from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

  • Mix of grass and paved surfaces for both natural and accessible experiences.
  • Accessible washrooms available on site.
  • Convenient access via TTC subway (Old Mill Station)
  • Parking available off Catherine Avenue and Old Mill Road

The GTA’s Only Canadian Heritage River!

  • The Humber River is designated as a Canadian Heritage River and is the only river to receive this designation in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
  • Due to its rich cultural and recreational history and the important role it played during the settlement of Peel Region and Canada, the Humber River is one of only 41 designated heritage rivers in Canada to receive this title!
  • People have lived along the banks of the Humber River for at least 10,000 years!

    • Irregular or slippery terrain; changes in weather conditions; branches and springing vegetation; encounters with natural features such as plants, insects, animals and water hazards such as ponds, rivers, lakes and streams and associated hazards such as flooding.
  • Participants are expected to dress appropriately for the event/program, and be fit to participate.
  • TRCA is not liable for any claims, demands, suits, proceedings arising from or in any way related to any accident, injury, damage, loss or other claim for death, bodily injury, personal injury or property damage, resulting from or in any way connected this event, howsoever arising, save and except those arising from and directly caused by the gross negligence or deliberate acts of TRCA. TRCA is hereby released from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action or otherwise for injury, loss or damage to others or property of others, that arise in connection with this event.
