Regulated Area Search

In accordance with the Conservation Authorities Act and Ontario Regulation 41/24, TRCA regulates areas where development could be subject to flooding, erosion or dynamic beaches, and where interference with wetlands and alterations to shorelines and watercourses might adversely affect those environmental features. Any of these activities within the Regulated Area may require a permit from TRCA.

Please note: TRCA has recently updated its Regulated Area mapping. LEARN MORE.

If you would like to learn whether your property is located within the flood plain, and at risk of flooding, you can use TRCA’s Flood Plain Map Viewer to find out.

Please use the search tool below to determine if your property is within TRCA’s Regulated Area. Note that mapping is updated on a periodic basis and not all regulated areas may be mapped.

If you would like written confirmation and a more detailed review of how your property may be affected by our regulation and other TRCA policies and programs, consider using TRCA’s property inquiry or other services.

Terms and Conditions

Not all regulated areas may be mapped. Boundary lines are a conceptual representation of TRCA's Regulation limit and should not be relied upon as a precise delineation. A feature or hazard does not have to be mapped to be regulated. See text of the Conservation Authorities Act and Ontario Regulation 41/24 for details.
