John MacKenzie is the Chief Executive Officer at Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Appointed in November 2017, John is responsible for executing on Authority and Living City Foundation priorities by working in partnership with funding partners including the province, federal government, municipalities, businesses, community organizations and individual members of the community to ensure successful development and delivery of programs that achieve The Living City Vision (the TRCA Strategic Plan). John is also a Director on the Board of the Living City Foundation.
John holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Planning from the University of Toronto and an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography and Urban and Environmental Studies from Brock University. John is a member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute, Canadian Institute of Planners, the Ontario Association for Impact Assessment and the Project Management Institute.

Michael Tolensky is the Chief Financial and Operating Officer at Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Michael leads the Corporate Services division, with the primary mandate of providing timely and seamless support for fundamental business operations. The division takes proactive leadership to address standard operating procedures, opportunities for organizational improvements and results that are both financially and strategically sustainable.
Michael is a graduate of the Schulich School of Business at York University and a Chartered Professional Accountant. Michael earned his certificate in Not-for-Profit and Charity Finance Leadership from CPA Ontario as well as CPA Canada’s Public Sector Certificate Program. Michael also acts as a financial advisor to The Living City Foundation.

Nick Saccone is the Senior Director of Restoration and Infrastructure at Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Since 2014, Nick has been accountable for a broad business portfolio, providing strategic direction, operational management and quality assurance of TRCA’s erosion and flood management and mitigation programs, environmental monitoring, native plant propagation, natural heritage/ecological restoration, resource management, waterfront park development and other built capital investments.
Nick is responsible for the delivery of cross-corporate technical and functional services for land use planning, permitting, authority land management and capital project management – including the design and construction of TRCA’s new head office, Black Creek Pioneer Village infrastructure improvements and many other significant work.
A professional engineer since 1986, Nick also holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies as well as a Bachelor of Applied Science.

Carolyn Woodland is the Senior Director of Planning and Development at Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Since 2002, Carolyn has led her team in environmental planning, development review, policy and environmental assessment functions for the Conservation Authority within 18 municipalities of the Toronto region.
Carolyn holds a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture and Planning from the University of Toronto and an Experienced Planning Practitioner Certificate, (Joint OPPI and Environmental Studies), from the University of Waterloo. Carolyn is an active member of the Canadian Institute of Planners, the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and both the Canadian and Ontario Societies of Landscape Architects.

Derek Edwards is the Director of Parks and Culture at Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Since 2005, Derek has guided the management and strategic development of TRCA’s conservation area, campgrounds, golf course and living history museum.
Derek’s top responsibilities include directing divisional goal setting and budget management, guiding the development and delivery of public-use programs and services, evaluating and controlling risk to the organization and overseeing the planning and development of capital projects.
Derek holds an Honours diploma in Recreation Parks Operations and Services from Seneca College, a Parks and Recreation Management Administration Certificate from New Brunswick Department of Tourism and Recreation, a Parks and Recreation Certificate from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and is presently pursuing a degree in Business Administration from York University. Derek is also the Interim Executive Director of The Living City Foundation.

Darryl Gray is the Director of Education, Training and Outreach at Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Darryl provides leadership to a diverse team that supports TRCA’s vision for The Living City and focuses on improving access to learning opportunities for all throughout our jurisdiction. These initiatives include school programs, community outreach, stewardship, youth employment and mentorship, professional training for new Canadians and industry practitioners, sustainable technology performance evaluation and TRCA’s accessibility program.
Chief among Darryl’s goals is to strengthen TRCA’s role as a leader in education and training through the redevelopment of TRCA education facilities and programs in community learning with an emphasis on building partnerships to improve health, learning and economic outcomes through an environmental and sustainability lens in the communities we serve.
Darryl holds a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University and is presently completing a Diploma in Municipal Administration.

Chandra Sharma is the Director of Watershed Strategies at Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Since 2014, Chandra has been providing strategic leadership for a diverse range of watershed programs in TRCA’s nine watersheds and Lake Ontario – including research, climate change, green infrastructure, watershed planning/reporting, Source Water Protection, Remedial Action Plan, citizen science and community/stakeholder engagement.
Chandra holds a Masters in Environmental Studies and Planning from York University as well as a Public Management Certification from York University’s Schulich School of Business. Chandra is a professional planner and a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners as well as the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
