Students will have the opportunity to become community scientists for the day! They may participate in the following activities:
- Engage in habitat improvements on site, such as removal of invasive plants, planting native plants, or preparing seeds to bring back to school
- Go on a hike to gather data that will be inputted to databases used by conservation scientists
Depending on the season, observations may be of frog songs, birds, local animals, or plants.
Students will learn why community science is important and discuss how they can continue to help the environment once back at home or school.
