Students will gain understanding of the connection between biodiversity and species survival, and will learn how to:

  • Define the concepts of genus, species and taxon, and how species are categorized and named according to their structure and evolutionary history.
  • Use appropriate sampling techniques to collect various organisms in a pond, field, and forest and classify them according to their nutritional pattern, type of reproduction, habitat and general structure.
