Introduce your students to nature on a general interest hike, or specify a theme and we will customize this program to suit your needs.
A walk in nature provides so many mental and physical benefits. It can be an introduction to the natural world for those who are new to this environment, or it can be a more detailed journey for those who feel comfortable in the surroundings.
The flora and fauna of Southern Ontario will be emphasized on the walk. Mounted specimens, study skins, skeletal pieces such as deer antlers will be used as teaching aids.
In this interactive hike, students will learn through games and hands-on activities. Teachers can request a specific topic to be discussed during the program, or we will follow the natural curiosity of your students to lead our activity choices.
Preparation
Programs always have an outdoor component. Groups should dress for the conditions on the day of their visit. Before your visit, please discuss the importance of dressing appropriately for outdoor activities. On days of inclement weather the program will be modified to include some indoor activities along with the outdoor components.
