Rural Clean Water Programs

The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s Rural Clean Water Program (RCWP), launched in 1997, is an agricultural/rural extension program that aims to improve and protect local water health by providing technical assistance and funding incentives to farmers and rural landowners who voluntarily implement agricultural best management practices (BMPs) on their properties or the lands they work.

For nearly 30 years, the RCWP has worked collaboratively with farmers and rural property owners to invest in and complete over 300 projects that protect, restore, and enhance water, air, soil, and habitat quality.
