Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a curious beginner, these new disc golf courses invite you to immerse yourself in the thrill of the game, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty that Albion offers!
Leading the grand opening ceremony was Richard Ubbens, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s (TRCA) Director of Conservation Parks and Lands, joined by notable figures including; Sylvia Jones, Member of Provincial Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon; Mario Russo, Regional Councillor, Town of Caledon; Jeff MacKeigan and Cara Hovius, co-founders of ChainLink Disc Golf; Brian Hoeniger, International Director of the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA); and Doug Maskell, Councillor, Town of Caledon.
Together, they officially declared the courses open for play with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.
TRCA’s Richard Ubbens extended gratitude to our partners ChainLink for their dedication to expanding the sport of disc golf, and invited everyone to come and enjoy this family-friendly activity.
The Town of Caledon presented TRCA and ChainLink with certificates to mark this special occasion.
Albion Hills Conservation Park has long been a desirable destination for outdoor adventures in the region. Now, with the newly added nine-hole family-friendly “Albion Birdie” course and the 18-hole pro-level “Albion Albatross” course, the park caters both to disc golf beginners seeking an introduction to the sport and to seasoned players craving a challenge.
This addition to Albion’s recreational offerings promises both to attract professional disc golf tourists to the park and to provide a great family-friendly activity for local residents to enjoy this summer.
The development of these courses is a true testament to teamwork and dedication, as ChainLink and TRCA worked in partnership to ensure they were built with TRCA’s conservation principles at the forefront.
The dedicated staff at Albion Hills Conservation Park worked tirelessly to create environmentally sustainable facilities, integrating these recreational courses with the natural habitat of the park.
From safeguarding nesting bird habitats to removing invasive species, a harmonious balance is reached between recreational enjoyment and environmental stewardship, exemplifying TRCA’s ongoing commitment to connecting communities to nature and greenspace.
