Amateur arborists were busy along the Etobicoke Trail in Caledon recently, planting trees and helping to ensure they’re protected over the approaching cold winter months.
The Oct. 22 event was an initiative of the Valleywood Stewardship Project.
Launched in 2014, the project — which engages residents in protecting, restoring and beautifying the local environment — is a partnership involving the SouthFields Village Residents Group, the Valleywood Residents Association, ecoCaledon, The Living City Foundation and Toronto and Region Conservation.
It is supported by Ontario Trillium Foundation and Region of Peel.
