Moving towards our vision, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) engages in numerous projects and initiatives to restore ecosystem health to the Etobicoke and Mimico Creek watersheds and improve the quality of life for the communities living in these areas.

About These Watersheds

Situated side by side in the western part of TRCA’s jurisdiction, the Etobicoke and Mimico creeks watersheds originate on the south slope of the Oak Ridges Moraine and travel south to Lake Ontario.

Together, they total 28,860 hectares in size and support a population of over 400,000 people, and substantial numbers of businesses and industries.

They are two of the most highly developed, and therefore degraded, watersheds in the Toronto area.
