PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
- Participants must be 14 years of age or older.
- Participants must be returning to a high school the following school year.

TRCA’s Conservation Youth Corps is bringing passionate young environmental stewards together for an overnight retreat at Albion Hills Conservation Park in Caledon.
This year’s theme, Environmental Leadership in a Circular World, explores the cycles that connect us – to nature, to our communities, and to the resources we use every day.
Through hands-on activities, meaningful conversations, and time outdoors, youth will have the opportunity to earn community service hours, connect with like-minded peers, and to build leadership skills and the confidence needed to become stewards of today – and leaders for a more sustainable future.

CYC Events
Take part in these events to earn high school community service hours.
CYC In-Person Programs in Peel Region
The Conservation Youth Corps (CYC) program offers Peel Region high school students the opportunity to volunteer for a week in July or August assisting with conservation projects.
Volunteers work in crews with other high school students on outdoor tasks and can earn up to 30 community service hours by participating in the program.
ELIGIBILITY
- At least 14 years of age
- Currently enrolled in high school and returning in September 2026
- Able to commit to volunteering for one full week (Monday – Friday) during August or three days (Tuesday – Thursday) during July
- Interested in the outdoors and environmental conservation
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- Punctual and reliable
EXPECTATIONS OF PARTICIPANTS
- Arrive on time at a designated pick-up location each day
- Participate in an orientation and training session
- Comply with all health and safety instructions provided and maintain a safety focus during all tasks
- Daily work activities including removing invasive species, monitoring planting sites, and maintaining trails
- Use hand tools and equipment safely, including shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows
- Other tasks as assigned
PLEASE NOTE: Volunteers younger than 18 years of age require parental or guardian consent to participate in this program.
TRANSPORTATION
Participants are to be dropped off directly at the program starting site by a parent or guardian OR take public transit if they are 14+. On select days, we will be taking a bus to an alternative work site but will return to the designated drop-off/pick-up location at the end of the day.
