Discover the wonders of winter wildlife! Join us to learn about the diversity of bird species that live in the GTA during the winter months and how to identify them. We’ll learn how to snowshoe and wear them on our birding adventure through Downsview Park!
Two programs will be hosted:
- 10:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m.
- 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Please make sure that you’re buying tickets for the time you’re interested in attending! The cost for this program is $15 + HST per ticket.
Snowshoes, binoculars, and field guides will be provided. Please dress for the weather, including layered clothing and winter boots. In the event of a snow-free day, join us for a birding hike through Downsview Park.
The event will run rain or shine, but will be cancelled if there is a greater than 70% chance of hazardous weather. Registrants will be emailed by 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the event if there is a cancellation.
We’ll meet at the Downsview Park Hub, which is located at 70 Canuck Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M3K 2C5. The closest major intersection is Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue West.
This event is intended for Ages 6+:
- Beginner level information
- Activities and concepts that are friendly for all ages
- Intended audience includes children, youth, and adults

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation requests received by TRCA more than 14 days before the start of the program will receive a 75% refund of the relevant program fees paid. Cancellation requests received by TRCA less than 14 days before the start of the program do not qualify for a refund. Minimum registration numbers required for program to operate. In the event TRCA must cancel the program due to low registration or government order, a full refund will be issued.
