Winter Bird Count for Kids

In partnership with Birds Canada, TRCA is hosting a Winter Bird Count: a fun, family-friendly bird watching event that promotes nature appreciation and environmental stewardship. Everyone is welcome, from beginner to expert birders!

This event offers opportunities to build bird identification skills and contribute to important Citizen Science work. We will be spending our time outside so please dress warmly.

Winter Bird Count for Kids is a Christmas Bird Count for Kids event rooted in the longest running citizen science event in North America.

This event is intended for Ages 6+:

  • Beginner level information
  • Activities and concepts that are friendly for all ages
  • Intended audience includes children, youth, and adults
