Launching careers for newcomers in Canada

To gain insight into the types of jobs participants in our program Professional Access Into Employement (PAIE) have secured, take a quick look at two of our successful candidates in action!

Led by TRCA, PAIE is an innovative bridge training program that helps internationally-trained environmental professionals launch their careers in Engineering, Geoscience, Environmental Science and Planning.

Prabin Sharma and Azza Issa have completed the PAIE program, and are both currently working within some of the top organizations in their fields. They are among the dozens of PAIE participants who have found successful employment opportunities within their fields.

Azza Issa

Azza works as a Utilities Design Coordinator for Crosslinx Transit Solutions. Some of her job tasks include reviewing design drawings to assess potential impacts to existing and future utilities, working with teams to develop conceptual, preliminary and final design drawings, and liaising with utility companies to get Municipal Consent Requirements and permits.
Azza would like to encourage newcomers navigating their job search efforts to be optimistic, as her own breakthrough was not devoid of struggles.

Prabin Sharma

Prabin completing on-site field work at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. Prabin works as an Aggregate Technical Specialist focused on the Sudbury district. Although there are many aggregate extraction sites in Ontario, Prabin is responsible for regulating one of the largest in the province, located on Manitoulin Island. His excellent communication and interpersonal skills, project management experience, and policy interpretation abilities are a big part of his current position, and his job related skills continue to grow every day.
