Tommy Thompson Park is hosting our annual Winter Bird Count for Kids*, in partnership with Bird Studies Canada. This is a fun, family-friendly bird watching event that promotes nature appreciation and environmental stewardship. Everyone is welcome, from beginner to expert birders!
Build bird identification skills and contribute to important Citizen Science work while observing the park’s amazing winter bird residents, then come and warm up with a hot chocolate while we tally up what we saw! We will be spending most of our time outside so please dress warmly. Note that our trails at Tommy Thompson Park are not maintained in winter and the ground surface may be uneven.
TRCA is committed to creating an accessible experience for all participants. If you require an accessibility accommodation, please email email@example.com by December 29, 2018.
This event will run rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather, participants will be contacted with notice of cancellation.
*Winter Bird Count for Kids is a Christmas Bird Count for Kids event rooted in the longest running citizen science event in North America.
