Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) undertook restoration works on a section of Mud Creek known as Reach 3, located within Moore Park Ravine in the City of Toronto.
This project was conducted to restore and revitalize Reach 3 of Mud Creek by stabilizing the river banks, removing debris from the watercourse, and installing water flow control structures to reduce erosion during large storm events.

Project Location
The project site was located along the Beltline Trail, east of the Mount Pleasant Road and St. Claire Avenue East intersection in the City of Toronto. Reach 3 of Mud Creek falls within Moore Park Ravine, south of Cat’s Eye Bridge at Heath Street East, and north of Governors Road bridge.

Scope of Work
- Start Date: January 2022
- Completion Date: July 2022
The scope of work for this project included:
- Removal of debris and failed gabion basket/retaining walls;
- Channel regrading/filling;
- Armourstone and rock weir construction for grade and flow control;
- Armourstone retaining wall; and
- Vegetated rock buttress construction.
