Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) works with local farms, Ecosource and other organizations to support education and urban agriculture skills-building workshops.

These workshops address significant community interest in local food production, harvest distribution and sharing, and development of gardening and urban farming skills.
Malton SNAP has officially launched Urban Agriculture Skills Training activities designed for hands-on urban agriculture experiences through a seasonal visit to McVean Farm in Brampton.

Future activities may include workshops led by the Black Youth Farming Collective (BYFC), a youth-led not-for-profit based at McVean Farm, as well as the Albion Hills Community Farm.
A total of two to three workshops will be held on Peel Region farms in 2026.
Stay tuned for more to come!
