The Nature School at Lake St. George – Richmond Hill

The Nature School at Lake St. George takes place primarily outside at Lake St. George Field Centre, a beautiful environmental education centre situated on 300 hectares of natural landscape with a tranquil kettle lake.

The Nature School at Lake St. George is hosting an open house! We invite families to come and experience what The Nature School is all about. Meet the staff, take part in some outdoor activities, see our classroom spaces, and enjoy a nice warm fire. This is a family event: everyone is welcome!

Davies Hall at Lake St George Field Centre

Lake St. George Field Centre is located on the ecologically significant Oak Ridges Moraine, just east of Bayview Avenue in the Town of Richmond Hill.

The field centre offers on-water experiential learning on its floating classroom, a solar powered pontoon boat, as well as canoeing, a low ropes course, and a sun-filled Nature School classroom nestled inside a grand historic mansion.

Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is now open! You can book your desired cohort by clicking the REGISTER NOW button. If you have any issues (or prefer human interaction) please call TRCA Visitor Services at (416) 667-6295 and they will be glad to help.
KPAL & Primary Level
JK to Grade 3 (ages 4-8 by Dec 31, 2026) – Thursdays | September to June | 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. | $3,650.00 annual tuition per child (1 day a week for the school year)

Cancellation Policy

A non-refundable deposit is due upon registration.

If you wish to cancel your child’s registration prior to the scheduled end date of the school program, we require 30 days written notice by email to vservices@trca.ca. Fees will be pro-rated and charged for the notice period and the deposit will be forfeited. If you wish to re-enroll your child after cancelling, a new deposit will be due.

There are no refunds for school days missed or not participating in school activities.

If tuition fees are paid monthly, the non-refundable deposit due upon registration will be used to offset the last month of the scheduled school program.

Minimum registration numbers are required in order for The Nature School to operate. In the event The Nature School must cancel due to low registration numbers a full refund for the cancelled days will be issued.
