Students engage in a classroom experiment to clean polluted water with items representing municipal water treatment facility equipment.

While having fun, students learn about the different filtration methods used by North American cities to treat waste water and filter drinking water.

Preparation:
Access to a sink required. Please organize your class into groups of three to four students at tables.
