Yes, at least one parent or guardian needs to be with the group.

TRCA is taking the following precautions:

  • A distance of at least two metres will be maintained between the TRCA educator and participants at all times.
  • Participants from a single household will not require social distancing from one another. However, the distance between participants from different households will need to be maintained throughout the program.
  • The TRCA educator will sanitize hands and/or wear gloves prior to distributing any materials to participants. Any items used by participants during the session are disinfected prior to the session.
  • The TRCA educator completes a daily self-screening and participant screening checklist to ensure any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 are addressed immediately.
  • TRCA follows all public health and provincial directives associated with COVID-19. In addition, TRCA has a comprehensive set of policies and guidelines to help ensure the health and safety of staff and participants.

Programs at Kortright Centre will be hosted entirely outdoors, and the TRCA educator will always be at least two metres away from participants. Wearing a mask during these programs is therefore not mandatory.

The TRCA educator will always have a mask with them and will use the mask at their discretion. If requested by the parent or guardian, the TRCA educator can wear a mask.

Guided Programs and Tours at Black Creek Pioneer Village feature an indoor component. Program participants must wear a mask while in the Visitor Centre and in the heritage buildings. Please read the Black Creek Pioneer Village visitor protocols.

The TRCA educator will never leave your group unattended during a scheduled program. Our educators are all trained in first aid and CPR, which includes injury prevention.

All TRCA educators have been trained to respond to ticks. Given current physical distancing parameters, we will talk you or another parent/guardian through tick removal. We can provide a disinfected tick removal tool if it is needed.

If a tick is found after the session, carefully remove the tick according to your region’s public health guidelines and follow up with your public health agency accordingly.

Prior to the visit, parents must complete a registration form and sign a waiver. These will be provided at the time of booking.

Upon your arrival, the parent/guardian must complete a COVID-19 self-assessment form. If the parent/guardian or any program participant exhibits symptoms of COVID-19, program participation will be denied.

Program payment will take place at the time of booking. You can pay online by credit card. If a credit card isn’t available, please contact us and we will provide instructions for paying by cheque in advance of the session.
