Whats Happening at Black Creek in August

August is here, and our too-short summer is heading for the homestretch. But things aren’t slowing down here at Black Creek. The Village has a jam-packed lineup of events and activities this month — from our Class of ’67 experience, to our new lineup of Black Creek Nightlife adventures, to the sights and sounds of Rastafest.

Wrapping it all up on August 30: our Light Up the Night fundraising event — a unique opportunity to explore the Village under the stars.

And don’t forget: weekday admission to the Village is free for kids until Labour Day!

Let history actor Blythe give you all the details in this new video:

Hi, there, I’m Blythe, a history actor here at Black Creek Pioneer Village.

Well, it’s August and there is so much for you and your family to see and do here in the peak of the season. So what is happening at the village in August? Let’s take a peek. Kids get in free this summer on weekdays.

Families can investigate and explore in our history lab, grab an instrument and play along with our resident musician, and step into character as a member of the Class of ’67.

Jam along to the reggae sounds and jump up at Rastafest at the Village August 19th and 20th. There you’ll delight at the sights, sounds and tastes of rastafarian culture. For tickets go to rastafest.com.

On August 30th, from 7:00 to 9:30, the Village comes alive after dark for Light Up the Night. Experience the Village like you have never seen it before. Enjoy craft beer and local wine, while relaxing to live music under the stars. Funds raised support public and school learning activities, and preserve our community’s heritage.

Well underway in August is the Village’s newest nighttime feature, Nightlife. With axe-throwing, escape rooms, archery dodgeball and haunted walks. These special evening events turn a village experience into an unexpectedly hair-raising thrill seeking good time. Be sure to book online as spots are filling up fast.

Well it’s a jam-packed August, so make sure to get in on the fun.
