The Labour Day weekend has come and gone, youngsters are trudging back to school, and — yes, let’s admit it — we’re going to miss the summer. But it’s still warm out, the leaves have yet to turn, and there’s plenty to enjoy at Black Creek Pioneer Village as we ease slowly into fall.
This month’s lineup of special events will kick off Saturday September 16 with the ever-popular Pioneer Harvest Festival: your destination for the chance to sample every imaginable culinary delight — from homemade pies to savoury sausages. Horse-drawn carriage rides, a quilt auction, and demonstrations of traditional crafts complete the day.
Lovers of all things handmade will want to return the next day, Sunday September 17, for the annual Artisan Village Festival, which showcases the wares of local artists, designers and craftspeople.
