The workshop will be led by OWA Member, David Taylor, a long time neighbour of Walkers Woods and the retired TRCA Land Steward for this magnificent forest. There will also be the opportunity to visit the Walker Woods sawmill and learn about its use in days gone by. David will also show us a former gravel pit that has been developed into a beautiful forest with trails on a nearby Glen Major property overlooking all the way to Lake Ontario.

This tour is part of the ongoing program sponsored by York/Durham Chapter, Ontario Woodlot Association. Rural property owners and others interested in protecting and preserving our Ontario forests are also welcomed. The event starts with refreshments.

Please Note: The Walker Woods property is a natural forest setting and participants should come suitably dressed for the weather with walking shoes, pants and hat. No pets please. Note also that there are no washrooms.
