Bundle up and step outside to appreciate what is unique to winter in Toronto’s wilderness. We’ll gather at the Tommy Thompson Park Nature Centre and head out from there. We will explore for signs of animals, identify plants in the winter (when their flowers can’t guide us), and search for migratory birds who can only be found at Tommy Thompson Park in the winter months.
This event is for both adults interested in learning about the natural world around them, and families wanting to kick off March Break.
As the event involves walking on uneven terrain, it is best suited for ages 7 and up. Warm footwear and layers, layers, layers are encouraged!
Registration available as of February 15, 2019.
Please note: the Nature Centre is a 5-10 minute walk from the park entrance. There is free parking at the entrance to the park.
In the case of extreme weather, we will notify registrants by email about event cancellation.
