Through the Peel EcoSchools Project, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) invites teachers in the Region of Peel to participate in a rich professional development opportunity that will enhance your teaching practice and provide an outstanding learning experience for your students.

Monarch Teacher Network of Canada is proud to present Voices from the Land, an interactive workshop that explores the intersections between language, culture and the natural world, and celebrates our connections to the land and our relationships with each other.

EcoSchools teachers take part in Voices From the Land workshop at Albion Hills Field Centre

The Voices process provides participants with the skills, resources and perspectives to nurture artistic reflection and expression in their learners. Expert educators will take participants through the Voices process, a creative and collaborative exploration of art, photography, language and performance.

Through the Voices process, participants will:

    • Make ephemeral art in a local landscape using natural materials
    • Write and perform poetry that reflects and represents art, language and culture
    • Use photography to capture artwork and performance
  • Learn best practices for designing and publishing artwork
  • Become empowered to teach in, about and for the environment

Eligible teachers interested in this workshop opportunity should contact Raysha Carmichael at rcarmichael@trca.on.ca.
