Join the TRCA Youth Council for a unique afternoon with Diane Montreuil for a workshop where we will learn to make traditional chocker necklaces.

Diane is an Algonquin Métis visual artist, educator, and knowledge keeper. Her experience includes advising and teaching for multiple school boards and universities, and her art has been exhibited around Ontario and circulated internationally. Diane uses art as a tool of communication with the goal of healing as she brings the knowledge of her grandmother/elder’s teachings to life.

The TRCA Youth Council provides fun learning opportunities intended for youth aged 16 to 30, but this workshop is open and suitable for individuals aged 12 and above.

TRCA Youth Council members take part in craft workshop

The registration fee helps to cover the cost of art supplies for the workshop, but if this presents a barrier to participation, or if you have any other questions or accommodation needs, please email Jackie Ho (jackie.ho@trca.ca) at least 5 days before the event.

Parking is available at The Hub. The site is also accessible by TTC either from bus routes along Sheppard Ave W or Keele St, or by a 20 minute walk from Downsview TTC subway station. The workshop will take place in an indoor, accessible space.
