The Tommy Thompson Park Urban Wilderness Sunset Tour is part of The 10 Waters Experience, a TRCA-led initiative to help people explore Toronto’s waterways and connect to the natural landscape that surrounds us every day.
Paddlers on the Tommy Thompson Park tour will be accompanied by a nature interpreter from TRCA, who will talk about the natural habitats on the Toronto waterfront, such as wildflower meadows, cottonwood forests, coastal marshes, cobble beaches and sand dunes. Wildlife, especially birds, flourish at the park, which provides one of the best nature watching areas in the Greater Toronto Area.
Paddlers will kayak across the outer harbour to Tommy Thompson Park, led by expert paddling instructors from The Complete Paddler. There will be stops along the western shore of this urban wilderness, where paddlers will learn about the park’s history and wildlife while enjoying breathtaking sunset views of downtown Toronto.
