The Tommy Thompson Park Urban Wilderness Sunset Tour is part of The 10 Waters Experience, a TRCA-led initiative to help people explore Toronto’s waterways and connect to the natural landscape that surrounds us every day.
Paddlers on the Tommy Thompson Park tour will begin at Cherry Beach and kayak across the outer harbour to the park – also known as the Leslie Street Spit, led by expert paddling instructors from The Complete Paddler. On this tour, you will explore Tommy Thompson Park’s western shore while enjoying breathtaking sunset views of downtown Toronto.
Wildlife, especially birds, flourish at Tommy Thompson Park. The tour is led by a nature interpreter from the TRCA, who will share stories about animal life in the park in addition to the history of this urban wilderness – one in which nature and humans have worked together to create much needed green environments. This tour offers a unique perspective of the shoreline and aquatic habitats of one of the best nature watching areas in the Greater Toronto Area.
