More than 10,000 tonnes of plastics enter the Great Lakes every year. Working together, we can create a City of Toronto Inner Harbour that is free of floatable debris with a thriving aquatic ecosystem and abundant recreational opportunities.

Join TRCA and its partners at Marina Quay West to learn more about The Floatables Strategy. Participants will have an opportunity to explore the problems and solutions related to waste, particularly floatable litter, within our waterways and the Toronto Harbour.

Become a community scientist alongside the University of Toronto Trash Team and support in the categorization of litter caught in a Toronto Habourfront LittaTrap. Using specialized magnetic fishing rods, participants will also have the opportunity to seek out metal litter within the harbour.

Registration is not required. Activities are on a first come, first served basis.

The Toronto Inner Harbour Floatables Strategy is a partnership between Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), the University of Toronto Trash Team, PortsToronto, and several City of Toronto divisions, with support from Swim Drink Fish, Harbourfront Centre and the Waterfront BIA.
