This Teaching & Learning with Monarch Butterflies workshop is proudly offered by the Monarch Teacher Network of Canada and Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre.

This immersive workshop has been designed to give participants the knowledge, skills and resources to create outstanding learning experiences for their students, nature clubs, and community.

Educators participate in Monarch Teacher Network of Canada workshop

Delivered by experts from the Monarch Teacher Network of Canada, the session will explore the life cycle, migration and habitat requirements of the monarch butterfly.

The workshop will also provide training on appropriate handling and care protocols, tagging and tracking of migrating monarchs, and ethical considerations related to species conservation.

Morning refreshments will be provided.

ABOUT WYE MARSH WILDLIFE CENTRE

The Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre is located on 1,200 hectares of provincially significant wetlands and federally designated forest in Midland, Ontario in the heart of Georgian Bay.

Visitors of all ages and abilities are encouraged discover raptors and reptiles in our interpretive display hall, explore our hiking, biking, cross country ski and snowshoeing trails, experience canoeing and kayaking on a guided tour through the marsh channels, visit the observation tower, floating boardwalks, waterfowl monitoring platform, wildflower gardens, bee house and so much more.

We offer a variety of programs, both drop-in and pre-registered, from guided walks to moccasin-making workshops.
