Public Information Centre – Downtown Brampton Flood Protection Project Environmental Assessment

December 5, 2019 @ 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Brampton City Hall, City Hall Atrium
2 Wellington St W
Brampton, ON L6Y 1M8

The City of Brampton’s Downtown Core is subject to flooding during extreme storm events (regulatory flood event) and is therefore subject to land use development restrictions under a Special Policy Area designation. The City of Brampton and TRCA are considering alternative ways to protect Downtown Brampton from future flood events and unlock potential for revitalization through the Downtown Brampton Flood Protection Environmental Assessment (DBPF EA). The purpose of the DBFP EA is to identify a preferred alternative for providing flood protection for the City of Brampton’s Downtown core, while considering urban design and land use opportunities for the City of Brampton.

This project is being planned as a Schedule C project under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment. For further information on this project, please consult:

THE THIRD PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE FOR THE DBFP EA WILL BE HELD ON DECEMBER 5, 2019. At this meeting, we will present the preferred alternative design concept alignment, project impacts and mitigation measures, an update on consultation activities completed to date, and next steps for this project.

Please attend to share your ideas and concerns about this exciting project!
