Bring us into your classroom – virtually!

As you tune in along with other classes across the GTA, you and your students can ask questions in real-time during the livestream lesson.

In the interest of fostering a healthy livestream chat conversation, if possible, we encourage teachers of virtual classrooms to screen-share with students rather than asking them to log in individually. A YouTube account is required in order to include your questions in the livestream chat.

While content will be geared to grades 7-8, everyone is welcome to join!

On May 18, our lesson addresses microplastics. We will share what microplastics are and examine how their presence in aquatic ecosystems can impact the sustainability of those environments.

The curriculums addressed in this livestream are Grade 7 Science: Interactions in the Environment and Grade 8 Science: Water Systems.

We will focus on the following Overall Expectations:

  • Assess the impacts of human activities and technologies on the environment, and evaluate ways of controlling these impacts
  • Assess the impact of human activities and technologies on the sustainability of water resources
  • Investigate factors that affect local water quality

If you are interested in receiving a worksheet in advance, please request one below: address fields can be filled in using your board’s address if teaching virtually. Select “Grades 7-8 – Microplastics” in the drop-down menu and click “continue”.
