Livestream: Wildlife Monitoring – Night Electrofishing

July 21, 2021 @ 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm

In partnership with our Youth Council, TRCA invites you to join us as we broadcast live from Toronto Islands to monitor the health of fish communities!

Learn all about boat electrofishing and discover the fish who call Toronto waterfront home. We will see live fish up close and learn unique facts about them!

Did you know that TRCA’s monitoring team goes out at night twice a year to conduct fisheries surveys? We are literally fishing for information! Annual daytime and nighttime fisheries surveys are used to track the effectiveness of aquatic habitat restoration projects and Remedial Action Plan (RAP) measures for the Toronto & Region Area of Concern (AOC). We partner with many agencies that all have a vested interest in the health of the fisheries community in the Toronto area and within the Great Lakes.

We encourage you to ask questions in real-time through the YouTube chat during the livestream.

Looking forward to learning about Toronto fish communities with you!

*Livestream is scheduled for July 21 with a rain date of July 28*
