Let’s come together on Earth Day and clean up our community!

At this annual event, we will work together to clean up The Meadoway, recording the litter we collect to contribute to community science projects that benefit the health of our watersheds.

Then, we will take a moment to discover the plants and animals that benefit from The Meadoway project by playing a mini bio blitz game! We’ll be recording our wildlife observations and submitting them to the City Nature Challenge!

Please note: participants will need to bring a mobile device with the iNaturalist app installed to join the mini bio blitz game. iNaturalist is a platform that puts nature at your fingertips, allowing anyone to record and share their wildlife observations and contribute to biodiversity science. Additional mobile devices will be available to borrow for the activity.

More details will be shared with registrants closer to the date of the event.

About The Meadoway Entrance Garden

Thanks to a generous gift from The Garden Club of Toronto, the beautiful pollinator garden near Wexford Hydro Park officially opened in September 2024.

The Meadoway Entrance Garden features a series of five pollinator gardens planted with native wildflowers, grasses and shrubs designed to attract and support local birds, butterflies, and other pollinators. Integrated pathways allow visitors to explore and enjoy the gardens up close and learn more about species they can plant in their own backyard.

The Garden will encourage the study of nature and provide educational opportunities to learn and interact with a variety of plant communities. The project will also create a strong sense of place for the community that is grounded in environmental health and sustainability.

Come visit and connect with nature today!

Cancellation Policy: The event will run rain or shine, but will be canceled if there is a greater than 70% chance of thunderstorm or other hazardous weather. Registrants will be emailed by 8:00 a.m. on the morning of the event if there is a cancellation.
