In accordance with the provincial COVID-19 Response Framework, Black Creek Pioneer Village is temporarily closed to the public effective November 23, 2020.

We are developing plans to bring Black Creek Pioneer Village and old-fashioned Christmas cheer into your home virtually this December. We will be in touch with everyone who has tickets for upcoming Homeschool Workshops later this week to discuss options for our new virtual programs, rescheduling current bookings, or reimbursement.

Thank you once again for your continued patience and support.

Take part in workshops at the Village designed just for home schooler and learning pods!

Not everyone celebrated Christmas in 19th century Ontario! This workshop will delve into some of the other holidays and traditions that were celebrated in the winter season.

At this workshop for home schoolers, discover how our early settlers prepared for winter as you travel around the heritage village. Explore winter travel, food preparation, toys, games, household chores, and family traditions. Enjoy an interactive story and get hands-on with a pre-packaged craft kit!

  • Fee Per Session: $15 per participant (including parents)
  • Time: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Ages: Designed for students ages 5 to 12, but all age groups are welcome!
NOTE: Workshops will include activities for children ages 2 to 4 years.
