Girls Can Too is a successful training program that provides hands-on learning experiences in the environmental and skilled trades sectors to young women in grades 7 to 12.

Get outside and earn community service hours! Plant native shrubs and wildflowers, while learning about the benefits of planting native species in urban gardens.

This event is part of the Bramalea Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program (SNAP) working in collaboration with tower residents and owners to create a green, healthy, and welcoming Bramalea.

Eligibility:

  • Grades 7 – 12
  • Able to commit to volunteering for the full session
  • Interested in the outdoors and environmental conservation
  • Comfortable working in a team environment
  • Punctual and reliable

Expectations of participants:

  • Arrive on time at a designated location
  • Participate in an orientation and training session
  • Comply with all health and safety instructions provided and maintain a safety focus during all tasks
  • Use hand tools and equipment safely
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • Registration is required
