Get outdoors and earn high school volunteer hours! Learn how to safely use equipment and participate in environmental conservation.

To end our summer of Conservation Youth Corps (CYC) programming on a high note, this full-day volunteer program will be part citizen science, and family fun day.

Participants will take part in EcoSpark’s Changing Currents program in the morning. They will learn about local water quality and take an active role in protecting freshwater ecosystems by testing the health of a stream. Real scientific protocols will be followed, and the data collected will contribute to a larger regional monitoring effort.

In the afternoon, participants will help set up and run stations for a Family program at Claremont Nature Centre. They will engage with youngsters and parents as they hike along the trails at Claremont, help to guide families, and run activity stations along the trails for the kids.
