Conservation Youth Corps: Claremont Planting and Stewardship

Are you a high school student hoping to obtain volunteer hours while helping to create habitat, clean the watershed and combat climate change? Join us at the Claremont Nature Centre for our Conservation Youth Corps program!

Participants will take part in tree, shrub, and wildflower planting. Meet at the front entrance of the centre. Registration is required for this event, walk-ins will not be accepted.

We will be at Claremont Nature Centre the following dates/times*:

  • Sunday June 4 – 9:30-11:30 a.m. | 12:00-2:00 p.m. | 2:30-4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday June 7 – 5:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Friday June 9 – 5:30-7:30 p.m.

*If you want to volunteer for more than one of the above dates you will need to register for each date separately. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

What to wear: Long pants, closed-toed shoes, tall socks, hat, and sunscreen.

What to bring: Rain protection, bug spray, reusable water bottle, and snacks. Gardening gloves and water refill will be available on site.

Cancellation policy: The event will run rain or shine, but will be cancelled if there is a greater than 70% chance of thunderstorm or other hazardous weather. Registrants will be emailed by 7:00 a.m. on the morning of the event if there is a cancellation.
